The Story of Stormkeepers: A Bastion
Stormkeepers: A Bastion, crafted from construction cements and acrylic glazes, is a continuation of my Stormkeepers series. This work reimagines our stormkeepers not just as mere guardians, but as our very fortress of refuge – unshakable pillars of strength and warmth where we seek shelter from life’s storms. They stand with a quiet power, as a living sanctuary that holds us close amid the chaos and uncertainty.
The heavy textured surface is a symbol of unyielding strength and solace, pulsing with the weight of protection, while the dark horizontal band flows as a river of peace, soothing us in its warm waters as we hear the whisper, “You’re safe now.” This piece invites viewers to imagine this haven, and seek it out, relentlessly, in their lives, or rediscover it if it has been forgotten.
Storm‑keepers: A Bastion reimagines the guardian figures of the Storm‑keepers series as an unshakable fortress of refuge. Built from layered construction cement and glossy acrylic glazes, the heavy‑textured surface exudes strength, while a dark horizontal band flows like a tranquil river of peace. This piece offers a bold, comforting focal point for any space.
