The Story of Stormkeepers: Velvet Wraps

Inspired by the concept of stormkeepers as guardians in our darkest hours, "Stormkeepers: Velvet Wraps" delves into the depths of human emotion and the resilience that emerges from despair. The artwork's spattered, metallic surface is crafted from construction adhesives, acrylic paint and glazes, creating a textured, almost skin-like finish. This tactile quality invites viewers to contemplate the raw, primal forces that shape our lives, whether they be inner demons or the relentless assault of the elements.

The metallic surface, with its pocked and corroded appearance, speaks to the harsh realities of life and the turmoil that can consume our vision. It is a visual metaphor for the chaos and confusion that often overwhelm us, leaving us feeling vulnerable and exposed. The use of industrial materials like construction adhesives adds to this sense of brutality, suggesting a world worn down by time and circumstance.

Against this backdrop of chaos, two intersecting lines in Musuo Black cut through the composition, serving as a powerful symbol of the stormkeepers. These lines, rendered in the blackest of blacks, absorb all light, creating a stark contrast to the metallic surface. They represent the unseen forces that hold us together in our most tumultuous moments, offering a sense of security and guidance even when all seems lost. The velvet wraps are a visual embodiment of the care and protection that stormkeepers provide, a gentle touch amidst the storm.
