The Story of River Of Gold

As part of my Abundance Series, “River of Gold’ embodies the family as a river, channelling the flow of prosperity and love that courses through its generations. Inspired by the natural world’s enduring rhythms – rivers that nourish landscapes and sustain life – I sought to capture this essence in a textured, abstract form. This piece features a central vein of shimmering gold, evoking a molten stream that branches and meanders, symbolising the generational transmission of wealth, wisdom and love.

Using construction cements I built up rugged layers and used acrylic glazes to infuse metallic depth and luminosity. I created a tactile surface that invites viewers to trace the contours with their eyes, feeling the vitality of abundance in motion. The warm, golden tones against subtle shadows represent not just material prosperity but the emotional riches that bind families together – resilient, ever-evolving, and infinitely regenerative. In a world often marked by scarcity, this work serves as a reminder that true abundance flows freely when nurtured with intention and care.
